Sisters is truly one of a kind. Underneath the Western decor, pine trees, vibrant mountains, and the neighborly environment, lies a home. As a 19-year-old who has lived in Sisters all 19 years of my life, it took me going to college to truly appreciate the town.
I have seen the good and the bad parts of Sisters. My little eyes watched the Dairy Queen, Dollar General, and the housing developments get built. In fourth grade my art teacher laid a giant wooden fish in front of me and told me to paint it however I pleased. I painted it with my best friend Juhree, I watched it go up on the fence and nine years later, every time I drive into town I see my fish hanging with pride. Read more...

When you think of the college experience, you typically think of someone fresh out of high school, leaving their hometown, living in the dorms with a random roommate, trying to navigate campus life. But you don’t need these things to have a great college experience.
However, many people find it impractical to immediately go to college after high school. It’s a lot to leave everything behind and begin a new life. Some people need time to work, support their families or simply figure out what they want to do. Others may not have had the opportunity to attend college right out of high school. Today, kids get their entertainment from the internet. Every time something becomes trendy, it spreads like the plague, lasts maybe two weeks, then vanishes into thin air.
Merriam-Webster Dictionary defined brain rot as “material of low or addictive quality, typically in online media, that preoccupies someone to the point it is said to affect mental functioning. Both the state of preoccupation and resulting mental degradation are known as brain rot.”
Simply put, brain rot is addictive, pointless information found online that will make you feel dumb. Some examples include 6-7, skibidi toilet rizz, Ballerina Cappuccina and other memes found mainly on TikTok. Read more...
